Going: ALL the fences and bends have now been moved onto fresh ground for the RA meeting. The forecast is to remain mild for the weekend, as at Wed 15 Jan, and the going is Good. The course will be officially inspected on Friday.

Course Information:

Longest course in country after Aintree. Wide galloping track, allowing fresh ground thoroughout the season, on well-drained chalk downland that has never been ploughed. Steady climb up to last 6 furlongs can test the non-stayer. General public can park where they like, with great views of the course.

SF: 18-20 (16). RH 11/3 circs. 13F. (3m): 18J; 3od (3/16 & 11). (2m5f): 15J; 2od (8 & 13). Circumference of circuit: 2m1f180yds

Cash and Card payments are accepted on the gate

 

Cards Accepted:

Not all courses have facilities for card payments, so be sure to take enough cash to cover the cost of admission and a racecard, any bets you wish to place, and food and drink.

Additional Information:

Event organisers will add in anything that you might need to know here – such as road works that might affect your journey times or celebrity appearances. Keep an eye on it!

 

 

 

 

The racecourse is in the heart of Salisbury Plain and can experience brisk winds. We reccommend wrapping up warm with extra layers and bringing a flask of something hot to drink (or visit one of the brilliant hot food/ drink stalls on offer!)
Dogs Welcome:

Point-to-points provide an ideal opportunity to spend a day in the countryside with your dog, although please remember that dogs must always be on a lead, should not be left in cars unattended (particularly in warmer weather), and to clean up after them. For point-to-points held at permanent racecourses, you should check in advance whether dogs are allowed to enter.

Disabled Facilities:

Disabled parking and access to facilities is usually available. Please advise our gate staff on arrival and they will be able to help you. Note that the going underfoot can be muddy and the terrain may be uneven.

Disabled toilets are located in the Queens’ building

At the heart of Salisbury Plain, guests will be able to enjoy various walking routes and local Wiltshire villages a short distance from the racecourse.

The city of Salisbury is only a stones throw away with an impressive offering of their Cathedral, Charter Market (on Saturdays), various museums and arts centre. The world heritage site of Stonehenge is a short distance away and there are various local accommodation options including hotels, BnBs and camping/ caravan sites.
