How the award works

Owners, trainers, riders and officials and racegoers are invited to nominate deserving candidates based on the criteria of a “Champagne Moment” – it might be a superb riding performance, an amazing comeback, a generous act of goodwill or support, a remarkable training performance or a milestone achieved by hard graft and perseverance. The Tattersalls Jockey Club Sales Champagne Moment of the Year is your chance to recognise those special people and events that make our sport so enjoyable and fun.

A committee of representatives from across the sport and our sponsors will draw up a long list of candidates from all the nominations received, and you can then vote for your favourite online. The top three candidates will be invited to the National Awards Dinner & Dance and the winner will be announced on the night.

You can nominate your preferred candidate for this award by completing the form on this page, including the reason for your nomination (max.100 words) and supported by a photo if possible. Alternatively, you may email your nominations, reasons why and photo to info@p2pa.co.uk. Nominations close on 30th April 2024, following which voting for the top three will start.
