CHAMPAGNE MOMENT OF THE YEAR AWARD

Joshua had an incredible day at December’s Wadebridge meeting, training five winners and riding three of them to victory himself (Talimar Pearl, El Capitaine and Clondaw Drake). Hannah Morgan, who works for Newman, was successful aboard The Kings Writ, while Izzie Hill took the honours on Hearts Corner. It was a huge team effort, with eight horses making the journey and all finishing in the top four. Most of the team were there to enjoy what was a truly memorable and successful day.

Gina Andrews continues to be a great role model for the sport, and her landmark 400th British pointing victory on Master Templar at Chaddesley Corbett was a defining moment. Not only is such an achievement unlikely to be repeated, but Gina has also ridden more winners than any other woman in history. She followed this with her 500th career win aboard Fairly Famous at Horseheath. Through relentless hard work, Gina has elevated women’s participation in the sport to new heights, setting a benchmark for others and inspiring countless riders along the way.

Just two years ago, Felix Foster couldn’t ride a horse. At 16, with no experience, he decided he wanted to ride in point-to-points. Balancing this ambition with GCSEs and A-levels, he set about learning everything from scratch – tacking up, rising trot, steering, jumping and even mucking out! He dedicated every spare moment to reaching his goal. His emotional and inspiring win at his home track, on just his third ride, was a true tribute to Felix’s hard work, determination and love for the sport.
